Batmitzvah in Millennium Grosvenor Square
The Brief
With over 15 years of experience planning Jewish events our clients knew that Uptown Events were the right company to come to for their daughters Batmitzvah party in November. Their brief was simple, a spectacular unforgettable party to celebrate their daughter’s birthday.
The Venue
After visiting a few of London’s top hotels our clients settled on the Millennium Grosvenor Square Hotel in the classy Mayfair district of the capital. The fantastic location and sophisticated feel of the hotel were the major selling points for our clients. Being a Jewish function meant that Uptown Events had to ensure the availability of Kosher caters before any decisions could be made. The flexibility of the venue over this potentially tricky issue meant is was clearly the perfect venue.
At the last minute we decided to install air conditioning units due to the heat wave. This proved to be a little harder than normal due to the timescale however it was managed and definitely played a crucial role for all the guests!
The Party
As the guests entered the hotel they were instantly directed into the first of three rooms awaiting them where we had used special lighting gobo’s to display the Batmitzvah girl’s name on the walls of the room. The reception was held in the first room and was transformed by special lighting effects to create a soft ambience, washing the room in pink. After moving through the reception the guests then arrived in the ballroom where the tables were laid up ready for them. A decadent four course meal swiftly followed which was enjoyed by everyone. Several of the guests commented on the presentation of the Kosher meal which was exquisite, and washed down by Kosher wine. The ballroom itself had been transformed with the help of clever lighting effects around the room and draping throughout.
At the end of the Ballroom Uptown Events had set up a magnificent stage with state of the art sound and lighting systems in place to accompany the Israeli band, specially flown in from Eilat, Israel. The performance was worth every penny and lead to a dramatic climax involving confetti cannons, more lighting effects and all the guests on their feet. This alone made the party spectacular, however there was more to come! Once the crowd had recovered from the band’s amazing performance the games room was unveiled. This third and final room was shear unadulterated bliss for all the Batmitzvah girl’s friends and most of the adults as well! This room was filled with activities to amuse all ages, including a nail bar for the ladies to be pampered and preened, as well a bead bar set up for the guests to make their own unique jewellery to keep as a memento of the day. The boys were not forgotten either as the car racing simulator, table football and a T-shirt bar where all the guests could design their own T-shirts and were also in action for the guests to enjoy! Some of the guests had flown in especially from all round the world to enjoy this special occasion with the Batmitzvah girl, so it was crucial Uptown Events deliver a stunning party to impress everyone. All the guests left talking about how great the night’s festivities were and our client was blown away with the amount of work and effort we had put in to the event. Once again Uptown Events produced a party that was just a few steps ahead of the rest.
