Batmitzvah in Westminster Hotel by the River
The Brief
One of our longstanding clients came to us to plan their daughter’s Batmitzvah based on our performance for their corporate events in the past. Naturally we were delighted to be offered the opportunity to impress and worked very closely with the client throughout the planning process and execution of the day. We were asked to provide a really alternative venue with a special, magical feel to it.
The Venue
After combing through our extensive venues database we came up with several possible locations. Once all the options had been suggested and viewed The Riverbank Park Plaza was the desired location! Having worked here on several previous events we were able to negotiate a great deal for our client and ensure that all their needs were catered for. The Thames Room, aptly named, overlooks the river Thames and is glass walled on three sides providing fabulous views over the river and bustling cityscape outside. We draped several 100 meters of white fabric around the room’s walls to create warmth and used led backlights to establish an ambience for the room.
The Party
Being a Jewish celebration we found the perfect balance between the religious celebrations and wild party atmosphere. The spectacular setting was an immediate wow factor for the guests upon arrival, and as they were ushered through the reception they were amazed by the creative use of lighting and decoration to enhance the room’s natural features, highlighting the beautiful room and special occasion they were gathered to celebrate. One of London’s top kosher caters was brought in specially to ensure the food was both appropriate and delicious as well! The tables were dressed simply, yet stylishly to fit the general scene and room décor. We used the lighting to create a pink nightclub feel which was the Batmitvah girl’s specific request. Once the dinner was served the party got started and the ‘nightclub’ really took off! We had children, grown ups, grandparents and babies, performers, retiring violets and step tappers jostling for place on the dance floor.
As the night drew to a close the guests were reluctant to leave and revellers had to be encouraged to leave the dance floor! Several guests were heard enquiring about the possibility of an Uptown Events party and we’re sure this Batmitzvah lady has set the standard for her friends and family.
